Anthony Martin has been a marine mammal biologist with the UK's Sea Mammal Research Unit and British Antarctic Survey since 1978. He has studied whales, dolphins and porpoises in many parts of the world and feels most at home in small, remote fieldcamps with marine mammals and seabirds on his doorstep.
Tony's current fieldwork migrations take him to both polar regions in summer and the Amazon in winter. A delegate to the Scientific Committee of the International Whaling Commission for 23 years, Tony recently chaired its work on small cetaceans.
